XEIKON TALKS TONER AT PRINTING-EXPO.ONLINE
By Editor MORTEN B. REITOFT

At Printing-Expo.online, you find numerous auditoriums that give you access to a wealth of information. Today I spend a little bit more than an hour watching a great session in the Xeikon Auditorium hosted by Donna Cavannon, Dimitri Van Gaever from Xeikon, seconded by Elizabeth Gooding from Inkjet Insight.

The session is a replay from a past Xeikon Café session, but that doesn't make it worse - on the contrary, on Printing-Expo.online, you can watch when you have the time. So what is this all about?
First, Xeikon has a long history in roll-fed toner-based printing, but today delivers toner and inkjet. Last year Xeikon introduced the Sirius platform and took a bold decision to focus on toner when most of the other vendors are shifting focus to inkjet. Or, that is at least what I and most others believe because, in the presentation, Dimitri Van Gaever gives an overview of patent applications to show that toner by no means is dead!

The presentation focuses very much on the pros and cons of toner vs. inkjet. Though I find that Elisabeth Gooding and Dimitri Van Gaever do their best to give an unbiased comparison of the technologies, I still find that the presentation is biased toward the toner platform. Not a huge surprise since Xeikon presents the show - and it is in my mind valid points that any potential buyer should look into. At the Xeikon booth, you can order print samples, and since this is often what many printers use to decide which technology to buy, this is, of course, very convenient. You can even book an online demo. I booked a demo and looking forward to seeing how this will be done!

During the following days, I will watch more presentations and introduce what I find interesting and not. The session that I refer to here is good to learn from, and I recommend watching it.

Here is the fast track to get there:
1) Registered at www.printing-expo.online
2) Click on 'Show Guide' in the upper left corner
3) Click on Xeikon
4) Click on Enter
5) To your left, you click on Auditorium
6) Click on the screen
7) Select "Thinking About Inkjet - Lets talk toner."

You can access the video other ways - but for now, I will let you do the work to get there! Enjoy!

INKISH has decided to upgrade all virtual events to events as essential as physical events. That means we will try covering online/virtual events similar to physical events with interviews, reviews, films, etc.
The world is changing, and virtual events, hybrid events, or whatever you call them, have become valuable to how PSPs can navigate the industry.
