Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - SCREEN Americas announces a commitment to purchase the Truepress JET 560HDX by VISOgraphic, Inc. of Addison, Illinois. The intention marks the Chicago area company’s first entry into roll-fed inkjet capabilities, expanding and complementing its already wide range of offerings.
Family owned and founded in 1946, VISOgraphic is a business-to-business, full-service commercial print provider serving entities across the United States. The company’s work spans a wide range of products including folding carton and packaging, variable direct mail, and web-to-print collateral management systems. Verticals served include travel and leisure, automotive, distribution, pharmaceutical, and nonprofit organizations.
Equipped with one sheetfed inkjet press, six toner devices and two LED-UV sheetfed offset presses, VISOgraphic needed a continuous roll-fed inkjet press to meet the growing demands of its customers and remain competitive in the marketplace without sacrificing its standards for image quality. Maintaining this commitment to quality while improving the economics for customers was paramount for the business. “Roll-to-roll inkjet technology will offer better price points on many jobs for our customers,” said Bob Dahlke Jr., principal at VISOgraphic.
Color quality and complex versioning for long runs played a significant role in pursuing the Truepress JET 560HDX for the team at VISOgraphic. “Of all the inkjet presses I’ve seen, the HDX has come the closest to matching offset quality,” said John Dahlke, principal at VISOgraphic. “You can’t tell the difference.”
The lack of skilled labor was also factored into the decision to commit to continuous roll-fed inkjet. “The machine will be easy to learn,” said John Dahlke. “We’re also looking forward to the automation the HDX offers and its ability to print on multiple substrates.”
VISOgraphic presently is producing 65% of its workload on offset equipment. The Truepress JET 560HDX is expected to assume some of this production, especially since direct mail remains a growth segment for the full-service printer
