Washington, D.C., USA - Carbon Balanced Paper North America has been accepted into the United States Postal Service (USPS) Sustainability Add-On Promotion Program, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to environmental stewardship. The USPS program recognizes and promotes innovative solutions that enhance the sustainability of mailing practices. CBP’s inclusion in this program underscores its dedication to reducing carbon footprints and promoting eco-friendly paper, packaging and mail solutions across the industry.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by the USPS Add-On Promotion Program,” said Phil Riebel, director of Carbon Balanced Paper North America. “This acceptance not only validates our efforts but also encourages more businesses to adopt sustainable practices. Together, we can make a substantial difference in reducing carbon emissions and protecting our planet.”
USPS Add-On Promotion Program
The USPS Add-On Promotion Program offers additional discounts to mailers who participate in other USPS promotions (i.e., Tactile, Sensory & Interactive Mailpiece Engagement, Integrated Technology, and Continuous Contact). The Sustainability Add-On provides an extra 1% discount on top of the base promotion discounts, and encourages the use of environmentally preferable mail materials and innovative mailing practices.
Other certifications eligible for the Sustainability Add-On include the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
Businesses can save up to 5% on postage costs by combining the Sustainability Add-On with other USPS promotions. This can result in significant savings, especially for companies that send out large quantities of mail regularly.
To be eligible for the USPS program, mailers must first qualify for one of the primary USPS promotions by registering through the USPS Business Customer Gateway, submitting their mailpiece samples for approval, and meeting all specific requirements outlined in the promotion guidelines.
The USPS Add-On Promotion Program runs from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.5 For more information about the USPS Add-On Promotion Program, please contact USPS Customer Service at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) or visit the USPS website.
