Fujifilm Australia has announced a leadership transition as Michio “Mich” Kondo steps into the role of CEO, effective 4 August 2025. Kondo brings global leadership experience from his prior roles heading up Fujifilm’s operations in Canada, Turkey, and the Middle East Africa region. He succeeds Richie Matoba, who led the company for three years and now transitions to Fujifilm North America after a successful tenure marked by innovations like the Sydney House of Photography, MRI technology deployments, and community-focused campaigns.
“I’m excited to get to know the local team and customers in Australia. Fujifilm Australia has a strong history of innovation, and I’m looking forward to continuing this trend,” said Kondo. His appointment signals a continued focus on portfolio expansion, customer collaboration, and regional growth across Australia and New Zealand.
