Epson Targets Growing Sign and Customization Market with New SureColor V4000 UV Flatbed

Epson expanded its V-Series UV printer portfolio with the launch of the SureColor V4000, a mid-range UV flatbed printer designed for small- to medium-sized print providers seeking to broaden their application capabilities. With a compact footprint and the ability to handle media up to 980 × 700 mm and substrates up to 200 mm thick, the printer supports a wide range of materials, including acrylic, vinyl, Coreflute, film, canvas, and wood. These capabilities enable production across signage, POS displays, décor panels, packaging components, and customized promotional products.

The SureColor V4000 uses Epson’s UltraChrome UV ink set with eight colors plus white and varnish, enabling vibrant color output, smooth tonal transitions, and detailed reproduction. Dedicated printheads for color, white, and varnish allow simultaneous multi-layer printing, enabling textured finishes and visual effects without slowing production. Epson’s Variable Sized Dot Technology further enhances image precision, while optional white and varnish layers can be applied selectively to create premium finishes.

To support reliable daily production, the printer includes features designed for operational efficiency and media control. These include a multi-zone vacuum system, an integrated ionizer to reduce static, automatic media-height sensing, and jam-detection sensors. When combined with Epson Edge Print Pro software and automated printhead cleaning, the system is designed to deliver consistent productivity for growing print businesses. Epson positions the SureColor V4000 as a versatile bridge between entry-level systems and high-end UV flatbeds, offering a practical entry point into higher-value customization and signage applications.
