The sale of Royal Mail's parent company, International Distribution Services (IDS), to Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský has been approved by shareholders. The deal, worth £3.6 billion, was approved by investors, marking the first time in Royal Mail's 500-year history that the postal service will be owned by a foreign entity. The sale was also cleared by the UK government and other regulators. More than half the shareholders of Royal Mail's parent company have consented.
