Mondi Expands Its Printing and Converting Paper Production

Mondi has expanded its production capabilities in Ružomberok, Slovakia, with the installation of a new slitting and rewinding unit, boosting its capacity for narrow reels. This addition strengthens Mondi’s supply security for customers across professional printing and converting sectors. “We want to give our customers supply security for their paper needs in folio and various reel widths and for this we needed to extend our narrow reel capacity,” says Bernhard Cantzler, Marketing and Sales Director at Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper. The new capacity ensures a steady supply of products like IQ ALLROUND Envelope, IQ UNIVERSAL Notebook, MAESTRO PRINT, and DNS Performance Plus.

Sustainability remains central to Mondi’s operations. Papers produced at the Slovak mill are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze, with additional certifications including the EU Ecolabel, PEFC, and FSC™. Cantzler reinforces this commitment: “Sustainability is at the core of what we do. We work together with our suppliers, customers and partners to get one step closer to our common goal of a true, fully circular economy.” The investment underlines Mondi’s dual strategy of meeting customer needs while advancing climate-efficient and responsibly sourced paper production.
