Sustainable Print Manifesto Launches as Global Industry Framework

The print industry today takes a major step toward unified climate action with the release of the Sustainable Print Manifesto, a collaborative initiative designed to simplify and accelerate sustainability across all print sectors. Developed through 11 working-group meetings, a Valencia-based summit, webinars, and community input, the manifesto presents nine practical principles—ranging from using better materials and reducing energy to improving water stewardship and transparent impact reporting. These guidelines are meant to be accessible, investment-light, and applicable to businesses of any size or technology.

Critically, the manifesto isn’t a top-down standard, but a co-authored, open-access resource that transcends technical silos and regional limitations. “Collaboration built on trust and transparency, towards a shared goal—this is what this manifesto aims for,” said Carlos Lahoz of HP, one of the founding partners. The document has also earned the support of key trade associations including BPIF, IPIA, VIGC, and PRINTING United Alliance. Founding supporters include HP, Gallus, Domino, CarbonQuota, Sun Chemical, and others, forming a global community dedicated to continuous improvement and shared progress in sustainability.
