AccuformNMC Transforms RFID Label Economics with High-Speed Inkjet Shift

AccuformNMC, a division of Justrite Safety Group, upgraded its RFID label production capabilities with the installation of the Graph-Tech USA RFID-Runner encode-and-print system, enabling a major leap in both speed and cost efficiency. As demand for UHF RFID labels surged, driven in part by large retailer mandates such as Walmart’s push for item-level tracking, the company faced limitations with traditional thermal printing systems and sought a more scalable solution.

The RFID-Runner has delivered a step change in performance, enabling production speeds up to 20 times faster than thermal printers while maintaining consistent 600 dpi print quality for text, barcodes, and encoded data. According to AccuformNMC, consumable costs have been reduced by more than half, fundamentally improving the economics of RFID label production. The system’s zero-waste capability, printing from the first to the last label on a roll, further enhances efficiency, while its integrated three-reader encoding architecture and real-time barcode verification ensure 100% quality control at full production speed.

Built around Graph-Tech USA’s proprietary eZ-Inkjet drop-on-demand technology, the platform is designed for high-volume, variable data printing across a range of substrates. For AccuformNMC, the transition represents more than a technology upgrade—it is a strategic move to support growing customer requirements for traceability, accuracy, and speed in modern supply chains. As RFID adoption accelerates globally, investments in high-speed, fully verified production systems are becoming essential for converters looking to remain competitive in this rapidly evolving market.
