Adobe Rejoins Ghent Workgroup to Advance Print Standards

Adobe is rejoining the Ghent Workgroup (GWG), reaffirming its long-standing leadership in digital print workflows and its commitment to advancing industry standards. As the inventor of the PDF format in 1993, Adobe laid the foundation for modern print and publishing workflows—work that GWG has built on since its founding in 2002. “Rejoining the Ghent Workgroup reflects our commitment to advancing industry standards, especially in areas like embellishment and textile,” said Mike Scrutton, Director of Print Technology and Strategy at Adobe.

GWG Chair Dave Zwang welcomed the move, highlighting the group's mission to create practical, widely adopted standards. “Few vendors are so key to our industry as Adobe, and we’re incredibly pleased to see them return,” he noted. Adobe’s participation strengthens the group’s influence across global print segments and aligns with its work in ISO and the PDF Association to shape the future of print technology.
