AI Takes Center Stage at Record-Breaking Prinect User Days 2026

Artificial intelligence dominated the agenda at Prinect User Days 2026, where HEIDELBERG gathered over 400 global attendees—setting a new record for the event. Key sessions focused on AI’s role in automating workflows to address cost pressure, labor shortages, and fragmented print job structures. Central to the discussion was Prinect Touch Free, HEIDELBERG’s AI-driven workflow solution that automates job routing between digital and offset presses. Early adopters in Germany, Poland, and Switzerland have already seen success, with one pilot site integrating and producing live jobs within just 90 minutes.

HEIDELBERG also introduced a new AI chatbot within its Customer Portal, initially aimed at answering Prinect and app-related queries, with plans to expand its scope to machine documentation and service ticketing. “This will result in faster problem-solving, enhanced user-friendliness, and international know-how sharing,” said Jürgen Grimm, Head of Prinect. With rising web-to-print job volumes and demand for “calm” in digital print operations, AI-powered solutions like Prinect Touch Free mark a critical shift for the future of print production.
