The Hannover Book Printing Museum – Friends of Black Art Association in Hanover has a Linotype 5c typesetting machine and have put out a call for help. Due to age, the electric motor that drives the machine has failed. They are looking for a replacement so that they can continue to demonstrate the mechanism of this technological innovation in action to museum visitors, they are now looking for a replacement.
Anyone who still has a motor in their inventory and would like to donate it should contact the Buchdruck Museum – Freundeskreis Schwarze Kunst e. V. (Book Printing Museum – Friends of Black Art). Alternatively, the motor could be refurbished at an electrical workshop. The association would welcome sponsors for the work. Any support would help the association continue to showcase the tradition of "Black Art" to the public.
The Friends and Sponsors Association of the Hanover Book Printing Museum currently has around 60 members who support the museum both ideologically and financially through their membership fees and voluntary work.
