Specialty chemicals company BYK is taking decisive steps to expand its footprint in South America with the creation of BYK do Brasil, a new subsidiary headquartered in São Paulo. The move underscores the company’s commitment to customer proximity and the region’s rising importance within the global market. Effective immediately, BYK do Brasil will oversee local marketing, sales, and technical service functions, serving as a direct contact point for customers in Brazil and beyond.

The strategic investment responds to strong regional growth in paints and coatings, plastics applications, and cosmetics, sectors where BYK additives already play a critical role. By localizing operations, BYK aims to accelerate response times, deepen collaboration with partners, and drive faster development of innovative solutions tailored to South American market needs. Carlos Roberto C. Duarte Coelho has been appointed as Managing Director to lead the new organization, bringing experience and leadership to support customers and strengthen BYK’s position.
