Col-Tec Solutions is inviting industry professionals to an open house this month to experience its new large-format Smart collator in action. Designed for complex point-of-sale applications, the Smart collator assembles customized sets based on store-specific data, with each set potentially differing in content and format—even within the same run. Paul Bailey described the system as “mesmerising in full flow,” with feeders and conveyors dynamically adjusting in real time based on customer-supplied data sheets. Capable of handling a wide range of substrates and sizes—up to 60x40 inches and as small as A5—the collator manages everything from thick boards to shaped and folded pieces.
The system can also integrate with partner equipment for automated wrapping, labeling, boxing, and more, with a second line already in development in partnership with Friedheim International.
The open house will be held June 12, 13, and 16 at Col-Tec’s facility in New Milton, Hampshire.
