Eagles Systems Integrates ToughSonics to Accurately Measure Distance in Cold Foil Printing

Eagle Systems, a New Jersey-based leader in foiling equipment, has integrated Senix ToughSonic® ultrasonic sensors into its ECO-Eagle cold foil printing systems, boosting precision and durability in packaging and print production. Cold foil printing—used to create the metallic finishes seen on products like toothpaste boxes, beauty packaging, and wine labels—can combine printing and foiling in a single pass, cutting production time from hours to minutes. Eagle turned to ToughSonic 3 sensors after less robust distance sensors failed, finding the Senix units offered consistent performance, built-in scaling and filtering, and remote programming capabilities for evolving machine features.

“To date, we have yet to experience failure of the Senix sensors, and have purchased at least 100, if not more,” said Mike King, Founder & CEO of Eagle Systems. These configurable sensors measure foil roll diameter with high accuracy, triggering reloading when needed and ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality output. Their rugged design and flexibility make them a strong fit for the demands of modern cold foil systems.
