The Delta Group Leverages Agfa’s SpeedSet Orca in Daily Operations

Agfa’s single-pass inkjet breakthrough, the SpeedSet Orca, has officially moved from beta to daily operation at The Delta Group, marking a pivotal milestone in digital print innovation. Developed for high-speed, high-quality B1 format production, the Orca is now fully integrated into the London-based visual communications firm’s workflow—delivering on speed, versatility, and sustainability. With speeds up to 11,000 B1 sheets per hour and the ability to match offset and flexo quality, the Orca offers converters a future-ready tool for short-run efficiency without sacrificing print performance.

“The press is so versatile that we can utilize it for a wide variety of applications… giving us much more flexibility on the production floor without compromising quality,” said Martin Shipp, COO of The Delta Group. With capabilities like inline primer and varnish, and compatibility with substrates ranging from cartons to microflute, Agfa positions the Orca as a true production workhorse. Richard Cotterill of Agfa adds, “SpeedSet Orca is the crest of the digital wave, marking a new era for digital print and packaging.”
