HP and ePac Flexible Packaging have announced a major milestone in their strategic partnership with the installation of the HP Indigo 200K digital press at ePac’s new Sheffield site, the company’s first in EMEA to feature the press. This deployment builds on ePac’s network of six HP Indigo 200K presses in the U.S. and advances the company’s long-term plan to fully transition its fleet to the high-performance platform. As part of ePac’s expansion strategy revealed at drupa 2024, the Sheffield installation reinforces the company’s commitment to driving digital transformation across the flexible packaging market.
Founded in 2016 with a single Indigo press producing just 5,000 pouches a month, ePac has evolved into a global innovator delivering over one million pouches monthly. Its UK and European footprint now includes five production sites, with two in the UK and one in each of France, Poland, and Austria. The Sheffield operation enhances its ability to deliver fast-turnaround, high-quality packaging to local and regional brands. The HP Indigo 200K’s 30% speed boost and 45% productivity improvement over its predecessor, along with gravure-matching quality and support for sustainable packaging, position ePac to meet diverse customer needs while aligning with EU sustainability goals, such as the PPWR.
Westlab, a leading UK wellness brand, is the first to leverage the Sheffield-based press. CEO Sean Daly praised ePac for enabling fast, flexible, and sustainable packaging solutions: “The consistent print quality and rapid turnaround enabled by HP Indigo 200K has been a game changer.” ePac’s Johnny Hobeika emphasized that this investment reaffirms the company’s mission to democratize high-quality packaging across EMEA, while HP Indigo’s Noam Zilbershtain highlighted the collaboration as a clear sign of digital’s growing impact on global packaging.
