The Board of Directors of Fira de Barcelona appointed Joan Casas i Sogas, Deputy General Manager of Fujifilm in Spain, as President of Graphispag 2027. The next edition of the prominent graphic industry and visual communication exhibition will take place from 4 to 7 May 2027, once again co-located with Hispack to strengthen synergies between the print and packaging sectors. Casas succeeds Xavier Armengou, who led the event in 2019, 2022, and 2024.
Casas, born in Barcelona in 1964, brings an extensive career in the graphic sector and more than a decade of experience at Fujifilm, where he has spearheaded initiatives in sustainability, digital transformation, and technological innovation—strategic pillars that will shape Graphispag 2027. His background also includes leadership roles at Access Ability, Vinzeo IT, Agfa Gevaert, and Ediciones Deportivas Catalanas, complemented by academic credentials in business management, marketing, and commercial strategy. Casas also serves as President of AESI, the Spanish Association of Printing Suppliers.
As President of the Organising Committee, Casas aims to reinforce Graphispag’s position as a reference point for innovation across all sectors that apply printing in their processes. “In 2027, we want graphic technology to connect with industrial innovation,” he said. “Our goal is to show how printing, substrates, coding, advanced finishing, and post-press processes can transform workflows and deliver value across commercial print, large format, packaging and labels, book production, and other sectors such as textiles, retail, advertising, and interior décor.”
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Graphispag 2027 will take place in Hall 1 of the Gran Via venue, showcasing materials, substrates, machinery, printing technologies, finishing systems, binding, and transformation solutions. Its offering will target both graphic and visual communication professionals and industrial companies seeking customised and sustainable printing applications, with an emphasis on packaging. Hispack, held concurrently in Halls 2 and 3, will celebrate its 20th edition and offer a full view of innovation across the packaging value chain.
The joint staging of Graphispag and Hispack continues a historic partnership that dates back to 1966, when the two shows debuted together as Graphispack. Their reunification in 2027 reflects a growing need for integrated solutions across the print and packaging industries, building on the strong synergies demonstrated during their shared 2022 edition.
Under Casas’s leadership, and backed by an organising committee and more than 60 industry associations, Graphispag 2027 is already shaping an edition designed to meet the evolving needs of Spain’s graphic and visual communication sector.
