Fujifilm Business Innovation Marks 60 Years in Southeast Asia with Focus on Digital Transformation and Sustainability

Fujifilm Business Innovation is marking significant regional milestones: its 60th anniversary in the Philippines and Singapore, and the 30th anniversary of its operations in mainland China. The celebrations reflect the company’s earliest international expansion, beginning in 1965 when the Philippines became its first overseas market, followed shortly by Singapore. Over six decades, the company has built a strong footprint across Asia-Pacific through innovation, sustainability initiatives, and close partnerships with local businesses.

Company leadership highlighted how Fujifilm Business Innovation has evolved from a document and printing-focused organization into a broader digital transformation and solutions provider. Naoki Hama, president and CEO, said the company continues to help organizations leverage information strategically while expanding into AI utilization and IT services. Regional hubs have played a key role in advancing digitalization and reducing environmental impact, supporting businesses as workstyles and data needs continue to change.

Sustainability remains central to the company’s regional strategy, particularly in the Philippines, which has become a manufacturing and resource-circulation hub. Fujifilm Business Innovation recently announced a Circular Manufacturing Centre that will remanufacture multifunction devices with an 84 percent reuse rate by weight and a total resource recovery rate of 99.5 percent. The facility supports the company’s long-standing recycling policy and contributes to local economic development.

Looking ahead, Fujifilm Business Innovation is deepening its investment in AI and software-led services to support small and medium-sized enterprises, which make up the vast majority of businesses in Asia-Pacific. By integrating AI into internal operations, devices, and customer-facing solutions, the company aims to enhance productivity, automate processes, and enable more sustainable business practices across the region.
