Gundlach Packaging Strengthens Operations with BOBST Service and Digital Tools

Gundlach Packaging reaffirmed its commitment to efficiency and sustainability by expanding its collaboration with BOBST, ensuring long-term operational excellence in an increasingly competitive packaging market. Founded in 1847 and now operating from a 35,000 m² plant in Oerlinghausen, Germany, Gundlach specializes in fiber-based packaging for the food sector and other industries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. With customer demands evolving rapidly, the company turned to BOBST’s service programs and digital platforms to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and strengthen its sustainability efforts.

The company’s investment in BOBST technology includes eight die-cutters, two hot foil stamping machines, a folder-gluer, and four gravure printing presses. Thanks to the Maintenance Plus program, Helpline Remote Assistance, and the digital solutions offered by BOBST Connect and TooLink, Gundlach can track real-time production data, streamline tool management, and ensure that even its 40-year-old machines remain fully operational. The MyBOBST customer portal has also revolutionized spare parts procurement, cutting delays and simplifying access to critical machine data while reducing waste and downtime.

For Gundlach, BOBST has proven to be more than a supplier—it has become a trusted partner capable of adapting quickly to urgent challenges, such as sourcing and installing critical parts well ahead of schedule. “Our collaboration with BOBST has been positive and in a spirit of partnership,” said Stefan Hörig, Head of Mechanical Maintenance at Gundlach. “The flexibility and commitment of the BOBST team are essential in helping us meet customer expectations.” BOBST’s Bernd Andree reinforced this point, noting that true value lies not only in advanced machinery but in the service and support that empower printers to deliver exceptional packaging consistently.
