Hoifu Group Purchases HEIDELBERG’s 1,000th Speedmaster CX 104

HEIDELBERG reached a significant milestone with the delivery of its 1,000th Speedmaster CX 104, the global bestseller in its offset press portfolio. The landmark press, configured with 14 units and equipped for UV printing, has been purchased by the Hoifu Group, a rapidly growing Chinese packaging printer employing approximately 2,500 people. The new press will begin production soon at Hoifu’s Yancheng site, fully integrated into an end-to-end Prinect workflow.

With its strategic investment, Hoifu Group is positioning itself for further expansion into premium and luxury packaging markets, including high-value food, beverage, and tobacco segments. “Besides exceptional technology, HEIDELBERG also offers excellent service support that goes a long way toward ensuring we achieve our productivity and quality targets in high-end packaging production,” said Ou Shun Chou, Chairman of the Hoifu Group, during acceptance testing in Shanghai.

The Speedmaster CX 104 has earned its bestseller status thanks to its strong price-performance ratio and broad applicability across customer types. Enhanced automation, production stability, and repeatable color accuracy make it especially well suited for high-end packaging applications. The press’s ability to combine multiple processes inline helps reduce makeready times, minimize material usage, and streamline logistics—key advantages for converters seeking higher output and lower operational costs.

“The Speedmaster CX 104 is our global bestseller, and special long configurations—particularly for premium packaging production—are a HEIDELBERG specialty,” noted Dr. David Schmedding, Chief Technology & Sales Officer at HEIDELBERG.

Demand for specialty and long-configuration presses continues to rise in China, where the packaging market is expanding rapidly and customers are seeking highly efficient, automated production systems. The installation of the 1,000th Speedmaster CX 104 underscores HEIDELBERG’s momentum in the region and its continued leadership in premium packaging technology worldwide.
