IBIS is set to showcase its advanced Smart Label-binder (SLB) at Labelexpo Europe 2025, highlighting new capabilities for high-speed, high-quality Extended Content Label (ECL) booklet production. Designed to run in-line with digitally printed webs at speeds up to 180 metres/min or from a sheet pile feeder at up to 400 sheets/min, the SLB handles lightweight paper stocks down to 40 gsm and offers both wire-stitching and IBIS’s patented ISG cold-glue technology in a single machine. This flexibility allows printers to produce stronger, flatter, and more recyclable booklets, including pharma ECLs with laser-cut extended tabs, all with full tracking for 100% integrity.
Extended models SB-X/SLB-X and SB-W expand the maximum spine length to 457 mm and book width to 273 mm, enabling a wider range of formats. “For the first time ever, both wire-stitched or glued books may now be produced from the same machine,” notes IBIS, underscoring the versatility of the system. Visitors can see the SLB in action at Booth 3A60, Fira Barcelona, from September 16–19, 2025.
