interpack 2026 Start-up Zone Doubles in Size as Next-Generation Packaging Innovators Take the Stage

Interpack 2026 is set to spotlight the next wave of packaging innovation with 22 start-ups featured in an expanded Start-up Zone in Hall 7a. Representing eight countries, these emerging companies are addressing some of the industry’s most pressing challenges, from sustainability and regulatory compliance to digital transformation and new business models. The dedicated space has more than doubled in size compared to the previous event, signaling strong industry interest in early-stage innovation as part of the broader exhibition, which will host 2,800 exhibitors from 67 countries in Düsseldorf from May 7 to 13.

The participating start-ups are tackling a wide range of applications across the packaging value chain. Innovations include bio-based and recyclable materials, reusable packaging systems, temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipping solutions, and software platforms supporting ESG reporting, PPWR compliance, serialization, and AI-driven operations management. Companies such as Innoscentia and Nanox are focused on extending food shelf life through sensor technology and advanced materials, while others like Licopharm and EVOPACK are addressing regulatory and sustainability pressures in healthcare logistics and perishable goods packaging.

Material innovation is also a major theme, with companies like Cell2Green introducing biodegradable cellulose films designed to replace traditional plastics while maintaining industrial performance standards. Collectively, the Start-up Zone reflects a shift toward practical, scalable solutions that align with circular economy goals and evolving regulations. By bringing these young companies together with global decision-makers, Interpack 2026 creates a platform for collaboration, investment, and accelerating technologies that will define the next generation of packaging production.
