Koenig & Bauer Drives Profitability Focus at ExpoPrint Brazil

ExpoPrint proved to be a strong platform for Koenig & Bauer to demonstrate that profitability—not just hardware—is at the center of today’s investment decisions in Brazil’s print market. The Rapida 105 emerged as the clear highlight, with the six-color press featuring a coating tower sold directly from the show floor to Grafica Rex in Rio Grande do Sul. Additional deals included new Rapida 105 installations for Ingral Industria Grafica, Malires in Curitiba, and a strategically important new customer, Quatro Pontos, in the greater São Paulo region. The common thread across these investments is the pressure on margins and the need for significantly shorter make-ready times.

The company’s message resonated because it tied technology directly to operational results. Faster job changeovers, higher uptime, and dense local service coverage are increasingly becoming differentiators in a market driven by shorter runs and tighter delivery windows. As Paulo Faria, CEO of Koenig & Bauer Brazil, put it, “When we reduce make-ready times to just a few minutes whilst simultaneously offering the densest service network in the country, we transform production bottlenecks into genuine competitive advantages for our customers.” Beyond offset, the show also highlighted the breadth of Koenig & Bauer’s portfolio across digital, large-format, and postpress, reinforcing its broader strategy of helping printers reshape business models for future profitability.
