At FESPA 2026 in Barcelona, Kongsberg PCS is making a strong statement about the future of digital finishing by centering its exhibit around automation, safety, and intelligent workflow integration. The company will showcase multiple cutting platforms, including the Kongsberg C paired with the newly launched Smart Material Handler for entry-level automation, the high-volume Kongsberg Ultimate with advanced feeder and stacker systems, and the highly flexible Kongsberg X. The European debut of the new Inkjet Marking Module (IMM) adds a particularly timely layer to the story, enabling inline compliance labeling, serial numbering, batch information, and high-resolution graphics directly during production.
What makes this launch especially relevant is how directly it addresses market pressures around traceability and new EU labeling regulations. By replacing manual marking steps and integrating fully with the i-cut Production Console, the IMM helps producers streamline workflows while strengthening track-and-trace capabilities. As Stuart Fox notes, “we are focusing on innovative solutions that encourage sign, display and packaging producers to look to the future of their operations.” Combined with expanded safety systems, faster kiss-cut tooling, and software enhancements that push metadata directly from Adobe Illustrator into production, Kongsberg is clearly positioning itself around scalable automation that supports both compliance and growth.
