Konica Minolta, Inc. announced the release of the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV, a new solvent-resistant industrial inkjet printhead that extends the versatility of its KM1024i series. Developed to meet the demanding requirements of high-precision applications, the printhead is designed to apply materials in exact volumes and precise locations, even when those materials contain solvents that traditionally degrade standard printhead components. The KM1024iSHE-HM-LV enables stable application across advanced electronics and energy manufacturing sectors.
The new variant handles solvent-containing display materials, organic semiconductor coatings, next-generation solar cell fluids, and metal nanoparticle inks. Its ability to manage microdroplet jets and low-viscosity inks makes it particularly suitable for forming perovskite layers in solar cells, where precision and reliability are critical. For applications requiring higher-viscosity fluids, Konica Minolta also offers the KM1024iSHE-HM, which complements the LV model by delivering similar solvent resistance while supporting a broader range of material viscosities.
As part of the wider KM1024i series, the new model retains the structural strengths that have made the lineup popular in markets ranging from signage and printed circuit boards to flat panel displays. With 1,024 nozzles arranged at a density of 360 npi over a 72 mm print width, the series delivers high-speed application with excellent productivity. Built on a common platform for size and electrical specifications, the printheads offer easy interchangeability across models. Kenichi Okubo, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Konica Minolta’s IJ Component Business Unit, underscored the innovation, noting that the launch “expands applications to domains where it was difficult to apply inkjet printhead technology, including advanced fields such as perovskite solar cells.”
