Konica Minolta has partnered with California Polytechnic State University’s Graphic Communication Department to install an AccurioShine 3600 with iFoil One digital embellishment press. The new technology enhances Cal Poly’s “learn-by-doing” curriculum, giving students hands-on experience with advanced finishing techniques, from material validation to interactive packaging design.
“Digital embellishment is more than just a visual enhancement – it’s a powerful tool that teaches students about branding, consumer psychology and the tactile impact of packaging,” said Colleen Larkin Twomey, Professor and Department Chair, Cal Poly GrC. The collaboration builds on a decade-long relationship, underscoring Konica Minolta’s commitment to preparing the next generation of print and packaging professionals with cutting-edge technology.
