LEONHARD KURZ has strengthened its long-standing collaboration with BOBST through the installation of a NOVAFOIL 106 H hot-stamping machine at its Application Technology Department (AWETA) in Fürth, Germany. The installation coincides with the 55th anniversary of BOBST’s first hot transfer stamping machine and further aligns the two companies’ expertise in transfer products, stamping dies, and high-performance finishing equipment. “Both companies are pushing technical boundaries outward together, enabling us to offer increasingly innovative solutions,” said Bodo Junge of BOBST. The new machine allows KURZ to validate development tests under production-grade conditions identical to those used by customers worldwide.
The NOVAFOIL 106 H delivers extended contact time, stable temperatures, and higher embossing pressure, supporting hot stamping, embossing, deep embossing, and hologram applications with high-speed precision. According to Martin Hempel of KURZ, nearly every development test is validated for market readiness on the NOVAFOIL, underscoring its central role in the company’s innovation process. The installation also creates a shared testing ecosystem, where BOBST can conduct demonstrations at AWETA and KURZ can evaluate new products across BOBST platforms. By harmonizing machine capability with transfer product performance, the partnership aims to deliver optimized, end-to-end finishing solutions that provide measurable value to premium packaging customers.
