Global Rotogravure Association Elects New Leadership at 90th Management Meeting

The Global Rotogravure Association (GRA) announced the results of its latest elections held during the 90th Management Meeting, part of the International Gravure Days from October 20 to 22 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The association appointed Simon Sonn of 4 Packaging Africa as its new President, marking a new phase of global growth and transformation for the organization. Sonn succeeds Davide Garavaglia, who is stepping down after an impactful tenure as President but will continue to serve on the GRA Board.

Dr. Marius Wittke of Windmöller & Hölscher has been elected as Vice-President and Treasurer, succeeding Max Rid, who served in the role for nearly nine years. Rid, known for his longstanding commitment and leadership, will also remain active as a Board member. The new appointments strengthen GRA’s leadership during a period of significant evolution in the gravure industry, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and global representation.

GRA also welcomed two new international Board members: Kaku Kohli of Kohli Printing and Converting Machines Pvt. Ltd., the first Indian representative to join the Board, and Mandy Wang of Weinan Zhengqi Printing and Packing Machinery Co., Ltd., the first Chinese member in the association’s history. Additionally, Martin Pitonak (Chemosvit), David Möller (4Packaging), Heiko Engelhardt (Burda Druck), and Olaf Segbert (Daetwyler Swisstec) were re-elected for another three-year term. In recognizing outgoing leaders, GRA expressed its gratitude to Davide Garavaglia and Max Rid for their exceptional contributions, which have been instrumental in shaping the association’s progress and strengthening its global reach.
