Lawton Connect, a fifth-generation commercial printing company celebrating 125 years in business, expanded its production capabilities by installing a new RMGT 970ST-5+CC five-color sheetfed press. Supplied by Graphco, the press features Insta.Color makeready automation, full automatic plate changing, and dual LED and ECO UV curing systems are designed to accelerate production while maintaining consistent print quality.
The press includes integrated aqueous and UV coating units that enable specialty finishes such as soft-touch coatings, spot UV effects, chemical emboss coatings, and protective surface treatments. These capabilities allow Lawton Connect to produce higher-impact marketing materials, packaging components, and specialty products, including the short- to medium-run playing cards for which the company is well known.
By moving from a smaller B2 format press to the larger 25 x 38-inch RMGT platform, Lawton Connect can produce more sellable pieces per sheet while reducing production steps and labor touchpoints. Combined with faster makeready times and instant LED curing, the installation delivers improved throughput, lower cost per finished piece, and faster time-to-market for customers seeking premium printed applications.
