Lessebo Paper has been awarded the Swedish Design Award 2025 for The Paper Player, a sensory installation created in collaboration with F&B Happy to mark the launch of the Lessebo Texture collection. The installation explores a unique question: while paper can be seen, touched, and smelled, what does it sound like? Working with Swedish sound artist Rördrom, the project transforms subtle variations in paper texture into sound waves, creating an auditory experience that redefines how paper can be perceived.
Presented alongside the launch of Lessebo Texture, the installation highlights the artistry and character of the company’s new textured paper range. Each surface in the collection embodies Lessebo Paper’s dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability, continuing its legacy of producing high-quality papers with among the lowest CO₂ emissions in the world.
“Winning the Swedish Design Award is a true honour,” said Ebba Ingvarsson, Communications Manager at Lessebo Paper. “With The Paper Player, we wanted to invite people to experience paper in a completely new way—not only through touch and sight, but through sound. It is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainable design.” The Paper Player was developed with creative partners including F&B Happy (concept and art direction), Rördrom (sound), Carl Ander (photography), Forsman & Bodenfors (PR), and LIVE Creative Agency (motion artwork and web).
