Mimaki Broadens UV Access with New UJV200 Series

Mimaki is once again leaning into the practical side of innovation with the introduction of the UJV200-160 and UJV200-130, a new UV roll-to-roll platform aimed squarely at print service providers looking for flexibility without operational complexity. Drawing on the print engine architecture of the flagship 330 Series, the UJV200 delivers the image quality the market expects—smooth gradients, sharp text, and uniform solids—while extending the accessibility that made the 200 Series widely adopted. For PSPs serving retail graphics, signage, and technical display markets, this is clearly positioned as a productivity and application-growth tool.

The bigger story, however, is the expansion of what shops can produce. Instant UV curing means prints are ready for finishing and installation immediately, improving turnaround times and enabling output on heat-sensitive media that would be difficult with thermal systems. The addition of white and clear inks for three-layer printing significantly broadens the value proposition for window graphics, backlit displays, labels, and decorative applications. As Arjen Evertse explains, “With the UJV200, we are bringing together three key elements our customers are looking for today: consistent high image quality, ease of use and the flexibility of UV printing.” For Mimaki, this launch is less about another printer and more about reinforcing its “Print Different” message—technology that translates directly into new revenue opportunities for customers.
