Miraclon Launches FLEXCEL Prime Plate Technology for Flexographic Printing

Miraclon has introduced FLEXCEL Prime Plate, its latest advancement in flexographic plate technology, building on the established performance of FLEXCEL NX Plates. The new plate incorporates Lift-Resist and Stay-Clean technologies, which help reduce ink build-up, lower impression requirements, improve plate reuse, shorten plate processing times, and increase overall press uptime. The technology has been validated through extensive field testing across more than 30 sites in 14 countries and over 5,000 commercial print jobs, with users reporting measurable improvements in press stability, plate flatness, and reduced cleaning requirements during production runs.

Printers and trade shops involved in the validation trials highlighted benefits such as fewer press stops for cleaning, easier plate handling, improved durability across repeated jobs, and seamless compatibility with existing FLEXCEL NX workflows. Some users reported productivity gains of up to 15–20% in plate production, while others saw reduced downtime and more stable long-run performance. Because FLEXCEL Prime plates can run alongside existing FLEXCEL NXH plates without adjustments to curves, color management, or workflows, the transition has proven straightforward for many converters and trade shops, allowing them to improve efficiency without disrupting established production processes.
