Modern Litho Expands Kansas City Presence With Acquisition of Mpress

Modern Litho continued its expansion in the Kansas City region with the acquisition of Mpress, effective November 1, 2025. The Jefferson City–based commercial print provider described the move as a strategic next step following its earlier acquisitions of James Printing in 2018 and Watkins Lithographic in 2021. By integrating Mpress, Modern Litho said it is broadening both its physical presence and the scope of creative and production services available to customers throughout the area.

“Bringing Mpress into the Modern Litho family expands not only our footprint but the breadth of creative, technical and marketing solutions we provide to our Kansas City and regional customers,” said Jeff Davidson, President of Modern Litho. “Mpress’s reputation for craftsmanship, innovation, and service perfectly complements our mission and values.” Ralph Myers, Co-Owner and Manager of Mpress, noted that the team is looking forward to joining Modern Litho and continuing to support the local market with expanded resources.

The acquisition significantly enhances Modern Litho–Kansas City's capabilities. New large-format services include retail signage, event and trade-show graphics, corrugated displays, fine-art reproduction, and banners up to ten feet wide. Finishing and fulfillment offerings have also been strengthened through expanded die-cutting, stitching, custom packaging, warehousing, and complex pick-and-pack workflows. Creative consultation remains a core part of the organization’s value proposition, supported by longstanding relationships with Kansas City’s arts, business, and non-profit communities.

With the integration of Mpress, Modern Litho positions its Kansas City operation as a comprehensive provider of offset, digital, and large-format printing, along with fully integrated finishing, fulfillment, and creative services designed to meet the needs of customers across the Midwest and beyond.
