Morrisette Sets North American First with Koenig & Bauer Installations

Morrisette Packaging is making a decisive move into the high graphics corrugated market by investing in two first-of-their-kind Koenig & Bauer machines for North America. The Omega Magnus 230 folder gluer will arrive in October 2025, followed by the ChromaCUT High Tech eight-color rotary die cutter in April 2026—both anchoring a new manufacturing division at the company’s Greensboro, NC facility. "We bought the machines together and will have succeeded in creating something no one else in this industry…or on this continent has," said company president John Morrisette. The equipment was discovered at Drupa 2024 and thoroughly vetted before the deal was signed.

With this expansion, Morrisette now offers in-house design, structure creation, digital and flexographic printing, die cutting, gluing, and automated delivery. "In my four decades in the corrugated industry, I’ve never seen anything like it," said Kevin O’Brien, director of manufacturing, noting how the technology fills a market niche. The new platform further transforms Morrisette from a packaging distributor into a fully integrated manufacturing partner, with full operations expected by June 2026.
