Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - PRINTING United Alliance is continuing its opposition to New Jersey's pending Extended Producer Responsibility legislation, Senate Bill S3398, that includes a ban on carbon black. The Alliance submitted a letter of opposition to the Senate Environment and Energy Committee and Senate leadership objecting to many aspects of the bill and because carbon black is not toxic when used in an ink. Banning carbon black means that no black ink can be used to print on a covered package or label.
Earlier this year, the Alliance and its members were responsible for the defeat of a similar piece of legislation in New York.
