PageDNA launched Item Assignment, adding a powerful new layer of accountability to its production workflow platform. While Manufacturers define where jobs are produced, Item Assignment defines who is responsible for each individual item at every stage of production. The result is a visible chain of ownership from prepress to shipment, eliminating the common question in busy print environments: “Who owns this right now?”
The feature allows teams to assign responsibility to specific people, departments, or roles and to reassign items as work progresses through production. In a typical multi-item order, items can be assigned to prepress for artwork checks, reassigned to different press operators based on production paths, and finally moved to shipping. Each transition is intentional, visible, and accountable, reducing stalled jobs, internal follow-ups, and dropped handoffs.
Fully integrated into PageDNA’s Order Manager, Item Assignment enables administrators and leadership to view work by assignee, track job status and due dates, and move items through production with clarity. The feature is optional but included for all customers, and is particularly valuable for teams managing parallel workflows or complex orders. By combining Manufacturer routing with item-level ownership, PageDNA delivers scalable, MIS-style control without the friction traditionally associated with enterprise MIS platforms.
