Sun Chemical and X-Rite Incorporated have expanded the PantoneLIVE™ digital color ecosystem with new color libraries tailored specifically for the metal packaging market—most notably, matte-finish two-piece aluminum beverage cans. These libraries enable brand owners, designers, and converters to visualize Pantone and brand colors with greater accuracy when using metal deco inks, helping streamline color development and improve predictability from concept to shelf.
The libraries, available via PantoneLIVE Production – Print and Packaging, now support over 4,000 colors across various finishes and ink types, including opaque and transparent options for matte varnishes. “By tapping into PantoneLIVE’s extensive library of validated Pantone colors specifically developed for metal deco inks, brands and their aluminum packaging suppliers can avoid time-consuming and costly custom color development,” said Eduardo Alegria of Sun Chemical. Integrated with X-Rite’s suite of color measurement tools, the solution offers a connected, end-to-end workflow for more consistent and sustainable packaging production.
