RISO Marks Two Decades of Cold-Fed Inkjet With Major Showcase at C!Print 2026

RISO will use its presence at C!Print 2026 to mark 20 years of its cold-fed inkjet technology, reflecting on the evolution of its FORCEJET platform since its introduction in 2005. First launched with the ComColor HC5500, the heatless printing architecture was designed around oil-based inks, flat paper transport, and fixed printheads spanning the full sheet width, enabling stable, high-speed production without thermal drying.

FORCEJET technology relies on horizontal paper movement beneath stationary heads, reducing jams and distortion while supporting a wide range of substrates including envelopes, carbonless paper, lightweight board and document sets. RISO’s oil-based inks penetrate paper fibres instantly, producing dry, curl-free output ready for immediate finishing. Sheet-by-sheet positioning is managed via lateral sensors to maintain accurate registration across varied applications.

At C!Print, RISO will demonstrate several systems, including the ComColor GL9730, FT5230 EII and the Valezus T1200, the latter configured with dual high-capacity input and output units supporting up to 8,000 sheets. The company will also showcase ExpeINsert, developed with Pitney Bowes, which integrates printing, finishing, traceability and inserting into a single automated workflow for time-sensitive document environments.

The 2026 exhibition will also mark the first public presentation of a new invisible ink for RISO duplicators. Revealed only under UV light, the ink is intended to add an additional layer of security for sensitive documents such as certificates, diplomas and statements. RISO said the development responds to growing demand for secure printing within transactional and institutional applications.

FORCEJET systems operate without ozone emissions and significantly limit VOC and CO2 output, while the absence of a heating unit reduces energy consumption by up to 91 percent compared with comparable laser devices. RISO will present its full portfolio and security innovations at stand 1C14 at Eurexpo Lyon from 3 to 5 February 2026.
