Siegwerk to Acquire Hi-Tech Inks, Creating India’s Largest Flexible Packaging Ink Supplier

Siegwerk announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Hi-Tech Inks, a leading Indian producer of flexographic and gravure inks. The transaction is expected to establish the combined company as the largest supplier in India’s flexible packaging ink market, with more than 20 percent market share. For Siegwerk, the deal represents a significant step in strengthening its position in one of the fastest-growing packaging markets globally.

The acquisition adds a broad portfolio of solvent- and water-based inks, metallic and special-effect inks, varnishes, and overprint varnishes to Siegwerk’s global offering. It also expands the company’s manufacturing presence in India through facilities in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and Vapi, Gujarat, enhancing both capacity and supply resilience. The combined organization will employ approximately 1,700 people across the country, increasing Siegwerk’s ability to serve converters and brand owners with improved responsiveness and scale.

Company leadership framed the deal as both a strategic and cultural fit. “Hi-Tech Inks has built an impressive legacy of quality, agility, and customer focus, and we are delighted to welcome them into the Siegwerk family,” said Ashish Pradhan, President of Siegwerk Asia. Karan Mahajan, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Inks, added that the partnership aligns closely with the company’s values and creates new opportunities for innovation and growth. Expected to close in the coming weeks, the acquisition marks Siegwerk’s largest since 2005 and signals continued investment in India’s packaging industry as demand for advanced, sustainable, and reliable ink solutions grows.
