Siegwerk is strengthening its global coatings strategy with the acquisition of Allinova, a Netherlands-based specialty chemicals company known for its expertise in water-based dispersions, wax emulsions, and adhesives. The move expands Siegwerk’s reach beyond converters into papermill and film manufacturing, enhancing its portfolio of functional and sustainable coating solutions. “Allinova’s solutions fit perfectly into our product portfolio and accelerate our mission to provide innovative and sustainable coating solutions for the global packaging market,” says Gilles Le Moigne, Business Head of Circular Economy Coatings (CEC) at Siegwerk.
Founded in 2005, Allinova has built a strong reputation in high-performance dispersions and specialty coatings, and both founders, Gijs Elfrink and Bob Horsthuis, will remain with the team post-acquisition. Siegwerk sees the deal as a cornerstone in advancing its Circular Economy Coatings business, established in 2024 to accelerate sustainable packaging innovations. “By acquiring Allinova, Siegwerk is doubling down on our global expertise in the area of functional coatings and therefore strengthening our position to serve our customers even better as an enabler of circular packaging solutions,” adds CEO Nicolas Wiedmann. The acquisition continues Siegwerk’s pattern of strategic growth investments, reinforcing its position as a full-range provider for the packaging market.
