FLAG 2026 Meeting Highlights Strength in Independent Labels

Flexo Label Advantage Group (FLAG) once again demonstrated why it remains a cornerstone for independent label converters, wrapping up its 2026 Annual Meeting with a program built around practical learning and member engagement. Held in San Diego, the event combined forward-looking education with the peer-to-peer networking that has long defined the organization. A standout session came from FLAG President JC McKay, who tackled one of the industry’s most pressing topics—artificial intelligence—helping members distinguish between today’s generative AI tools and the next wave of agent-based systems, while tying those technologies directly to estimating, customer service, sales, and workflow optimization.

Equally important was the collaborative spirit that ran throughout the meeting, from the brand-designer-converter panel discussions to the highly valued Member Round Tables where independent converters exchanged real-world challenges and solutions. The tour of Label King’s facility offered attendees a tangible look at how a fellow converter is scaling operations and customer service, reinforcing the practical nature of the gathering. As McKay noted, “This is what FLAG is all about: bringing independent converters together to learn from each other, strengthen their businesses, and find new ways to compete.” With awards recognizing outstanding member participation, strategic vendor partnerships, and major cost-saving milestones, the event underscored the role FLAG continues to play as both a buying group and a strategic business community for independent converters.
