Toyochem’s Mineral-Oil-Free Offset Inks Earn Top INGEDE Deinkability Rating

Toyochem Specialty Chemical, part of Japan’s artience Group, announced that its mineral-oil-free TK MARK V MOF sheetfed offset inks have successfully passed the stringent deinkability criteria of the International Association of the Deinking Industry (INGEDE). Tested under INGEDE Method 11 in the “magazine coated” category on glossy art paper, the ink series achieved the highest possible rating, “Good,” with strong performance across key parameters including luminosity, ink removal, minimal dirt specks, and stable brightness.

The results confirm that paper printed with TK MARK V MOF inks can be cleanly processed in recycling streams, enabling high-quality fiber recovery suitable for producing new paper products comparable to those made from virgin pulp. As deinkability becomes an increasingly important benchmark, particularly under tightening global packaging and recyclability regulations, such performance helps printers and brand owners avoid contamination in recycled paper batches while maintaining print quality.

According to Haruhiko Akutsu, Chairman of Toyochem Specialty Chemical, the certification reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting circular material flows. The achievement aligns with the artience Group’s Sustainability Vision 2050/2030, which targets low-impact, circular-economy-ready products across its portfolio, and positions the TK MARK V MOF series as a practical option for printers facing rising environmental and regulatory expectations.
