Xeikon is entering the Asia-Pacific label market with Ecolyne, a new digital press delivered through a subscription-based on-demand model designed to lower financial barriers for label converters. Instead of purchasing equipment, converters subscribe to production capacity, allowing them to scale output as needed while Xeikon manages installation, servicing, and uptime. The company said the model addresses a common industry challenge: high capital expenditure for new digital presses, even as shorter runs and faster turnaround are driving market change.

Trevor Crowley, sales general manager ANZ at Flint Group, noted that the addition of Ecolyne expands the Xeikon dry-toner portfolio to support both newcomers and experienced digital printers seeking to upgrade. “With Ecolyne, Xeikon simplifies things for converters looking to either start their digital journey, or those looking to upscale from their current platform, and to do this with a truly industrial platform,” he said. The offering shifts focus from machine ownership to print performance, a model Xeikon believes will appeal to emerging label producers in rapidly developing markets.

Xeikon President Walter Benz said Asia-Pacific was chosen for the initial launch due to the accelerating change in the region’s label-printing landscape. He pointed to growing demand among small and mid-sized converters for reliable digital capacity without the burden of owning and maintaining equipment. “They need access to digital label-printing capacity now,” he said. “That’s why we bring Ecolyne to Asia first.”

Designed for high-quality production, Ecolyne features a 330 mm web width, a 25 m/min print speed, and a 1200 dpi resolution, running on substrates ranging from coated and uncoated papers to PP, PET, and metallised films. It is available in CMYK and CMYK+white configurations, supported by Xeikon’s global service network. Ecolyne will make its first public appearance at Labelexpo Asia, 2–5 December, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
