At Labelexpo, Xeikon and Herma team up to deliver a real-world demonstration of thermal label printing in action, showcasing a complete workflow for cold cuts tray labeling. The collaboration featured the Xeikon LX3000 digital label press running HERMAtherm top M (912) material, a combination built for high-throughput, food-safe applications. With variable data like “best before” dates added on-site via thermal overprint, the solution enables brand-forward labeling and just-in-time coding with zero setup drama.
The system is designed for simplicity and sustainability. Digital print eliminates waste from overruns, while the 501 release liner contains 15% unbleached fiber, aligning with responsible sourcing goals. “With this demo, we show how easy it is for brands and packers to set up a line-ready workflow,” said Frank Jacobs, senior product manager at Xeikon. Herma’s Milos Kojic added, “HERMAtherm top M (912) with adhesive 62P offers exactly that balance: firm adhesion and clean thermal overprinting, giving customers supply chain security and more freedom to work sustainably.”
