After decades of dedicated leadership, Thomas Schimanowski will step down from the management board of OVOL Papier Deutschland on December 31, 2025, entering his planned retirement. Schimanowski, who is credited with guiding the company through challenging times and contributing to its stability and sustainable development, will remain involved in an advisory role from 2026, ensuring continuity and strategic guidance.
Beginning January 1, 2026, Martin Tewes takes over sole operational management as CEO. Tewes, who has served on the management board since 2019, was appointed by Japan Pulp & Paper as Schimanowski’s successor, underscoring the company’s commitment to continuity and ongoing growth. OVOL expressed gratitude for Schimanowski’s service and welcomed Tewes to his expanded leadership role as the company looks to the future.
