Enables Accurate Pricing of Print Jobs

Melville, NY – 18 October 2023 — SpencerMetrics, provider of intelligent solutions for data collection, monitoring, and analysis of digital and analog printing and finishing equipment, announces the addition of its CONNECT® Job Costing module. Attendees at Printing United Expo 2023 in Atlanta, GA from October 18-20, can be the first to experience CONNECT’s most recent update by visiting SpencerMetrics at booth B10032.

The CONNECT Job Costing module allows users to understand their true cost of production, providing automatic data capture of numerous parameters of job runs, including: •Duration •Setup Time & Waste •Job Interruptions •Operator(s) •Sellable & Waste Count •Media type, and more.

The newly introduced module also allows for the addition of time and material dollar costs of the job elements being tracked. For example, management can load labor costs, i.e. BHR (budgeted hourly rate); the costs of media, ink, and toner; and click costs into the system. CONNECT’s Job Costing module then uses these figures, along with its collected data, to calculate the actual job cost.

Executive Vice President, Vishal Sahay, relates this scenario. “An order comes in and you provide an estimate. The customer agrees to terms and pricing and purchases the final product. Do you know how much that job actually cost you to print? Was your estimate and purchase price spot on or was it too low? You didn’t lose money on this job, did you? We've developed our Job Costing module to answer that all important question for you.”

Users of the module have multiple options to evaluate if their estimates and pricing tiers are covering expenditures. CONNECT's Job Costing analysis can be viewed in numerous ways, including drill-down to an individual job, or combining multiple jobs to learn consolidated costs, or to determine costs by job type or media type, etc.

The Job Costing module expands to CONNECT’s JobHub module, allowing users to understand cost on not just one device, but across all production devices and for all shop procedures from printing to finishing to mailing and shipping. This valuable information can be displayed both in the standalone CONNECT system, and is also available via a restful API, for integration into existing MIS/ERP systems.
To learn how Job Costing and CONNECT can assist you                                                                  in accurately pricing jobs to stay profitable,                                                             see us at Printing United booth B10032 during the show                                                                      or visit our website or email us.
