Ajman Bank Partners with Canon Middle East to Offset Print-Related Carbon Emissions

Ajman Bank has joined forces with Canon Middle East to launch a new sustainability initiative aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the bank’s print operations. The Climate Contribution Project, announced in Dubai on June 4, 2025, will offset 25 tons of CO₂ emissions annually—primarily from ink, paper, and electricity consumption associated with Canon print devices. With over four million print impressions managed each year, the initiative reinforces both organizations’ commitment to environmentally responsible operations.

The program uses Canon’s advanced Managed Print Services and digital workflow tools—such as uniFLOW—to streamline print infrastructure, reduce energy consumption, and enhance workflow efficiency. Canon’s emission calculation tools allow precise tracking of print-related greenhouse gas emissions, which are then offset through investments in certified global climate projects. These include renewable energy programs in Asia, clean cookstove distribution in Africa, and international reforestation efforts—all verified by Gold Standard and authenticated by Climate Partner.

Ajman Bank views the partnership as a key step toward aligning internal operations with broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. “Our collaboration with Canon is part of a wider mission to embed sustainable practices into every level of the organization,” said Zohaib Ali Zahid, Head of ESG at Ajman Bank. Abdulaziz Al Ali, Head of Administration, added that the bank is pursuing multiple initiatives to reduce emissions and drive resource efficiency across departments.

Canon Middle East emphasized that this initiative is part of a global effort to help organizations reduce their carbon footprint through responsible print strategies. “This partnership reflects our Kyosei philosophy—working together for the common good,” said Shadi Bakhour, B2B Business Unit Director at Canon Middle East. “By combining sustainable print practices with digital transformation, we’re helping organizations in the UAE and across the Middle East take meaningful climate action.”
