Durst Group will unveil its new Open Software Initiative at Printing United 2025, October 22–25 in Orlando, Florida, introducing a modular and brand-neutral platform built to integrate seamlessly across any printer type or manufacturer. Positioned under the “Smart Factory” brand, the initiative offers print service providers, resellers, system integrators, and OEMs access to proven Durst software technologies through flexible, cloud-enabled modules. Designed with interoperability and open APIs at its core, the platform provides a foundation for vendor independence and a future-proof ecosystem that extends beyond Durst hardware customers.

Visitors will find Durst’s showcase split between two booths: Booth 3156 will focus on Durst Workflow and Durst Analytics for proprietary integration with Durst systems. At the same time, Booth 2266 will present the Open Software Initiative’s Smart Factory modules. These include Smart Shop for print-specific eCommerce, Lift ERP for cloud-based operations, Prepare for automated prepress and PDF editing, Produce for advanced color-managed RIP production, and Production Intelligence for AI-driven manufacturing insights. OEM partners will also be a focus, with callas software leading the neutral OEM offering through integration of its pdfToolbox technology into the Prepare and Produce modules, enabling white-label PDF workflow solutions.

Durst says the Open Software Initiative is tailored for multiple audiences—giving PSPs low-barrier access to professional-grade software, resellers the ability to expand portfolios, integrators the tools for seamless workflow connection, and OEMs a robust foundation for their own branded solutions. Live demonstrations, expert workshops, and on-site beta program signups will highlight the launch at Printing United, with Durst inviting partners to explore real-world use cases and collaboration opportunities.
