Felix Schoeller has introduced RubyPaper, the world’s first true photo paper developed specifically for high-speed inkjet photo production. The new paper addresses a long-standing challenge in industrial photo printing: achieving authentic photographic quality on high-speed inkjet systems. Traditionally, printers have relied on laminated or varnished coated papers to simulate photo-quality results. RubyPaper eliminates the need for these additional finishing steps while delivering a genuine photographic look and feel, available in both lustre and glossy finishes.
The paper features a specially engineered fast-drying colour-receiving layer that enables wider colour gamut, improved detail and edge sharpness, and consistent performance at full inkjet production speeds. Designed for industrial photo labs and high-volume applications such as photo books, school and sports photography, posters, and photo prints, RubyPaper provides both premium image quality and improved production efficiency. By removing lamination from the workflow while maintaining the tactile qualities of traditional silver-halide photo paper, Felix Schoeller aims to set a new benchmark for high-speed inkjet in industrial photo production.
